You might not think wanting a seriously cool LEATHER bed…yes, I said LEATHER, would be a problem, but besides convincing my husband it would be SO worth it, there’s the little problem of trying not to buy anything until we close on this house. And then there might be the big problem of not being able to afford anything ever again after we close on this house. So, wanting a $1200 LEATHER…yes, I said LEATHER, bed is a bit of a problem for me. I could attempt a DIY cheap-o-copy of an upholstered headboard, but I’ve seen, caressed and smelled the real thing and I would not be appeased. Here’s a quick camera-phone pic of the bed at the outlet. It’s a lovely sage green and is about half of the original price.

So, to keep myself from using the credit card with the $0 balance I hurried and put some cheap art up on the wall. My interior design professor would not be impressed, but it was an emergency. Now, if I buy that bed, I will have wasted $60 on these IKEA frames and 1.5 hours of my precious time. Not to mention my use of actual tools. Nope…can’t do it now. What’s done is done. Nail holes have been placed and three pieces of Basic Grey scrapbook paper have been sacrificed so, I’m committed.
Here are a couple of before and after pics just to give you an idea of how awesome this bed would – oh, sorry, I mean how blank the wall was above my bed and how lovely it looks now with my $60 solution (the papers were courtesy of BG so I’m not counting those) to my $1200 problem.

The wall is actually this tan color but it’s washed out in the before photo.

The only thing I wonder is, if you get what you pay for…
