iStock – Finally Getting It

I passed the ‘test’ at iStock a couple of years ago but have only attempted a few uploads. I mostly did it for the challenge. I had heard it was hard to get accepted so I took the challenge and had to resubmit two out of the three photos but I made it through the first time. I uploaded a couple of test images and had three downloads in about two years. I didn’t take it seriously. Just kind of dabbled. Now with a bit more time on my hands I thought I’d get into it more.
I did a couple of theme shoots with Kelsey but was nervous of rejection. The subject was great but the technical skills were lacking as usual.
BUT… then I went to PhotoCamp Utah and got some great tips from Rich Legg, a serious stock photographer. I used his high pass sharpening trick and submitted my photo. ACCEPTED and already purchased 3 times. The same number of downloads I’ve had in the last two years.

Now I’m thinking I can do this. I LOVE story and theme shoots and I have the perfect little model under my own roof. Now to compile a list of ideas…
