I just got a new “T-Mobile G1 with GOOGLE” phone!! WOO HOO!

O.K., I didn’t exactly get it in my hand, but I ordered it to be delivered on October 22nd…the day it comes out. YAY! I’m really excited about it. I’ve had a T-Mobile MDA for a couple of years now and an XDA before that and pocket pcs before that. I am ready to try something new. I'’m one of those rare people who actually LIKE Windows and Windows Mobile and programs that run on Windows etc. But I think the potential of this new operating system is worth being an “early adopter” of it. Android is an open source operating system which means if developers want to create applications for it…there are no limits to what they can do. It’s free and ready to be played with, improved and morphed. It’s not the prettiest phone in the pageant, but I like the interface and it has the full keyboard slider I’m used to. I would have liked it in white but only black and brown were available. It doesn’t look like it will be too hard to skin but the little ‘chin’ may make it difficult to find a case for.
I’ve been waiting for this for a LONG time and now, well, I have to continue waiting but I don’t have to rely on rumors anymore, so I’ll be sleeping better until October 21st when I’ll be tossing and turning like a kid on Christmas Eve.
