I survived the never-ending concert!

It was a fun one for sure. There were big 3-D cameras everywhere and they took away my lens, but overall it was pretty fun for the kids. The Jonas Brothers performed first and they did a few songs twice for the cameras which the kids didn’t mind at all. They wouldn’t let me use my camera because it had a detachable lens (which they consider professional, but they really need to be updated on the latest consumer products don’t you think??). Luckily I brought my little camera too. It’s having focusing issues but it worked OK.

I now have “The year 3000″ stuck in my head because they played it 3 times!

This one was fun to get. We were almost directly behind the camera so I could see the shots as he got them.

After the Jonas Brothers, Hannah Montana came out ans did a couple of songs. The screaming was so loud I used earplugs…and could still hear it!

Kelsey commandeered James’ glow stick to wave during one of the songs so she could have TWO.

hannah3.jpg Note the pink hannah-esque stripe in her hair. It worked out well that Halloween was so close…88 cents for the glow sticks as opposed to $10 at the venue and the hairspray was cheap and easily obtained as well.

After Hannah Montana, the Jonas Bros. came back out and did a number then she came back out as herself - Miley Cyrus.miley1.jpg

I do have to say that I enjoyed Miley Cyrus’ numbers far better than Hannah Montana’s. They are still fun but have more depth in the music. Kelsey’s favorite is GNO (Girl’s Night Out) She even made this sign.If you see a green sign waving wildly in the movie…that’s Kelsey. We were pretty much center stage so there’s a possibility of that.

James played it cool the whole time…not really letting on that he was enjoying it but I could tell. He purposely didn’t tell anyone at school that he was going to such a girly concert, but he saw two of his friends right up on the floor. Apparently one of their girl friends was in the fan club and was asked to get a few friends together to come to the taping and be on the floor under the catwalk which is not allowed at the other concerts. James saw his friends on the screen and then after the concert in the hall. They were all pretty tight lipped about going, but i guess they didn’t need to be.

And to give a little digital spin to it…Hannah and Miley were able to sing together on stage through the magic of digital screens. It was a little cheesy, but they could probably do something fun with it for the 3-d movie. digitalhannahmiley.jpg

So, we had a good time and with all the song repeats, we got out of there about 11:30 and back home before 1AM. They threw fits when i made them take naps the next day but they got over it. Cool mom for taking them to a concert…not so cool mom for making them take naps. Ya can’t have it all….
