Being NICE…is it so hard??

I admit it…I’ve been lurking at some popular scrapbooking sites - digital and not - as part of my ‘duties’ and I can’t believe how some people use the anonymity of the web to be just plain MEAN. I don’t mean anon posters..they are just cowards. I am talking about people who have names and avatars and pictures of their kids online who say things they would NEVER say in public. Not even ‘bad’ things…just not very nice. Things like ‘it’s nothing special’ or ‘I’ve seen better’. Would you say that to a person if they came up to you and said “HEY…look what i made!” ? Would you say that to your child? Your Mother-in-Law? It’s not hard to be nice.

The comments I’ve seen are not about me, but they ARE about someone’s mom, sister, friend. If you have something objective to say, by all means, say it!! If you have information or experience about a product, good or bad, do tell!! But if you’re just going to slam the person, keep it to yourself.

I don’t think the few of you who actually read this blog need to be reminded, but in case a mean person reads this I’ll just say….BE NICE!!! :) (Super pretty please?)

Well said! It’s really quite disgusting. I always find myself wondering how people convinced themselves it’s OK to act like that on message boards. Glad I’m not the only one!

I find that the world is a mirror of who YOU are. Those who critisize others are unhappy with themselves and that’s all there is to it. I always feel sympathy for those who are openly critical because it showcases an dissatisfaction with who THEY are inside and that’s sad.

I am with you on this one - the golden rule applies - EVEN on the web! :)
