New Gadgets for Christmas!!
For Christmas, I got my husband some kitchen ladles from Sur La Table. I actually got them for myself and thought it would be funny to wrap them and put his name on them. Then, a week before Christmas he asked “Can we get some new ladles? I’m tired of these. They’re about 10 years old.” I was a little stunned, but it was fun when he opened them. Why am I mentioning this?? Because besides a few Old Navy shirts, that was all I got him. I couldn’t think of anything else that he didn’t already have or wouldn’t want to pick out himself. I felt super silly when I opened the gifts he had purchased for me!! It’s a good thing he loves me for my looks!! (Just kidding!)
He had me open one of them first thing because he said I’d need it. He was so right! I had just run down to my computer to transfer images from my Compact Flash card so I could take photos of the kids Christmas morning. So I was really excited to get THIS:

Now I can click away and not worry about space. There is one catch…my husband wants me to shoot in RAW mode which means I have to take my camera out of auto mode…very scary!! But, it IS one of the things I want to learn this year.
One great thing about this card is the transfer speed is much faster from the card to my hard drive. And it speeds up the processing time of the images while shooting, so I can get more out of my burst mode! LOVED THIS GIFT…(sorry about the ladels, hon!)
The other present was saved until last. (Like I even thought there would be another one!…And I got him shirts!!! How nice am I?) Here it is…

The Epson R260 printer! I am really excited about this one because my PictureMate is having some issues and this printer prints 4×6 photos super fast. I’ve been doing a lot of cards and announcements using 4×6 prints and this thing whips them out. The prints look great and it prints on CDs/DVDs like my R200 does. One very important note is that while the inks are definitely high-def, they are not as ‘archival’ as the R200 inks. There’s not TOO much difference, but for some die-hard scrapbookers it’s ALL about longevity.
For me, it’s more about speed and convenience. I like the idea of the port on the front of the R260 if I need a quick print from my camera. I’d like to get my hands on one of the new PictureMates for the same feature and added portable printing. Got to play with them a little at Memory Trends in October but still haven’t made the purchase. The problem in our house is that we get new printers but the old ones never go away!
In a week or so I may be adding a new Epson to our printer collection…you’ll have to come back and see the newest addition to the Epson printer family after Jan 8th!
Until then, here’s a little late Christmas present from me to digital scrappers everywhere! May you scarp your Christmas photos before Tax Time this year! Enjoy these papers and look for more designs to come from me in the near future! Click on the image below to download this 38MB file.

Thank you so much for the papers. Looks like your son is doing better. Hopefully his face will be all clear from the tape soon. They have to come up with something better for the little ones, their skin is so delicate.

I love the papers too - if I download them will you teach me to use them? That of course would require a personal tutoring session which would of course require that you travel to Oregon to visit your MOM!!! And may I just say that you have a lovely family? And I’m not saying that just because I’m your Mom - you are truly doing a great job(along with your hubby)!
